We had the pleasure of hosting Mina and Arjun, Bachelor of Global Health students from Georgetown University, USA, for a 3-month international project placement with WACRH in Geraldton.
Mina focused on a scoping review of Indigenous youth health literacy programs and contributed to enhancing our ARHEN Respect training for health students. Arjun worked on a project related to diabetes educators and collaborated with the First Nations team to explore ways to expand our Midwest Aboriginal Men’s Empowerment program.
Here are their reflections:
"From performing research with the WACRH staff to exploring all that Western Australia has to offer with fellow students, my time here has been nothing short of amazing. I am thankful for such a welcoming and rich experience, and I look forward to applying everything I’ve learned here throughout my career." – Arjun
"This has truly been an experience that I will treasure forever. Not only did I have the opportunity to apply the new skills that I learned from the WACRH staff, community outings, and students that joined us here, I also had the opportunity to reflect on my role as a future healthcare professional and student of Global Health all while falling in love with Australia." – Mina
Thank you, Mina and Arjun, for your hard work and enthusiasm! We wish you both continued success in your global health journeys!
