The WA Centre for Rural Health - Pilbara of the The University of Western Australia has officially opening its Remote Health and Social Care Training Hub, providing a state-of-the-art facility for allied health, dental, nursing, and midwifery students on rural placement in Roebourne. With room for 8 students, the hub already housed its first group of future healthcare professionals!
WACRH Associate Professor Rohan Rasiah says the experience will immerse students into the Roebourne community and transform their thinking and understanding of health care delivery and the challenges for rural people.
The project was funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program), Rio Tinto, Woodside Energy, Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.
