WACRH aims to improve rural, remote and Aboriginal health through research, education, student support and community service activities. WACRH operates with support from The University of Western Australia but also works closely with numerous health organisations, on a local and national level.
Student SupportStudent Support
The Centre offers a number of free programs and services to students from all health disciplines. WACRH also coordinates Health Science student placements in Geraldton and surrounding communities.
Rural Health and Aboriginal Health Research
Academic research is an integral part of WACRH’s activities. Many of WACRH’s research projects focus on Aboriginal Health and endeavour to translate theory into actions that benefit remote and rural communities in WA.
Workforce Support
Health workforce development and support is ingrained in the Centre’s dynamics. WACRH works to encourage health professionals to pursue their careers in rural areas and promotes access to higher education and professional development opportunities.
